Well, it's that time.
When all of the zucchini and tomatos are going crazy and producing like mad! So far, we've had over nine zucchini in the last four days that we've had to either give away or find new recipies for. And of course, I had to have one hide on me and get huge, about eight inches around and about fifteen inches long. Evil little buggers.
My tomatos are starting to really grow and flourish. I started them late in the year, mid-june as seeds, so I'm really suprised that they're doing so well. What really help though was the cow manure compost we got from our neighbor. We were lucky because he gave it to us for free as long as we carted it away If you ever get a chance, find yourself a cow farmer and ask, in the spring, if you could take some, even if you have buy it. It's great stuff!
My herbs are also going crazy (thanks again to the afore mentioned compost) and I've had some of the best lemon balm and mint teas I've ever tasted. Of course, I've never had fresh tea before but it is sooo much better than dried. Believe me!
But that's about all for now. I hope to have some pictures up and running soon so keep us bookmarked and check back.
May your harvests be bountiful!
